Square Ozanam

landmark

Square Ozanam occupies a site that once served as the vineyard for the church of Notre-Dame-des-Champs. In place of those historical vines, you now find a small, quiet garden situated in the sixth arrondissement. The space is named for Frédéric Ozanam, a nineteenth-century scholar and professor at the Sorbonne who dedicated his life to social reform. If you look closely at the square, you will see a bronze medallion honoring his legacy as a founder of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, an international charitable organization.
