Square Paul Langevin is a quiet green refuge that sits directly against the stone wall of what was once the Ecole Polytechnique. While you walk through the garden, look for the monumental stone staircase in the center, which is covered in ivy and provides a dramatic, tiered backdrop to the space. At the base of these stairs, you will find a fountain that has stood in this spot since seventeen fourteen, long before the park itself was established in its current form in eighteen sixty eight.
