The Sri Dakshinamukha Nandi Tirtha temple sits entirely below street level, hidden inside a small, unassuming enclosure. A constant, thin stream of water pours from the mouth of a stone bull into a rectangular tank, filling the space with the sound of trickling water. For centuries, this site remained buried under layers of earth, unknown even to local residents. Workers accidentally uncovered the temple in nineteen ninety-seven while excavating a vacant plot, revealing an intricate stone structure that had been completely forgotten.
