Edward Elliot's Beach

Edward Elliot's Beach features a solitary, stark white pyramid standing directly on the sand. This monument marks the site where a Danish sailor named Karl Schmidt lost his life in nineteen thirty. He dove into the rough currents to rescue a drowning girl, succeeding in his effort before succumbing to the exhaustion of the struggle. The colonial government erected this memorial shortly after, and it remains the most recognizable landmark on this stretch of the coast, surviving despite the constant erosion of the tides.
