Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista

The facade of the Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista features alternating horizontal stripes of white Carrara marble and dark green serpentine stone. Builders completed this striped pattern in the fourteenth century, a style common to churches across the Ligurian coast during that era. Inside, a fourteenth-century baptismal font sits near the entrance, while a tall, slender bell tower stands behind the church, originally serving as a defensive watchtower for the town before it was repurposed into a campanile.
