Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi serves as the central hub of Monterosso al Mare, marked by a massive, weathered statue of the Italian hero standing at its heart. Local families and travelers fill the space beneath the surrounding palm trees, which provide shade for the cafes lining the stone perimeter. Years ago, this site held the boundary between the ancient village and the sea before land reclamation pushed the water back. Today, it remains the primary spot where the village pulses with its daily rhythm.
