Rudra Varna Mahavihar features a courtyard packed with a dense collection of gilded statues, stone carvings, and metal bells, all tightly arranged against the brick walls. This monastery served as the traditional site for the coronation of the Malla kings of Patan. In the seventeenth century, King Siddhi Narsingh Malla donated his own throne to the main temple here, and the metal workers who crafted these ornaments held such skill that the monastery functioned as a living gallery of royal metalwork.
