The Laochengdu Lao Tea House features a heavy wooden gate and a series of worn, dark timber pillars supporting a tiled roof that looks weathered by a century of tea steam. It is a traditional Sichuan teahouse where visitors sit on bamboo chairs to drink jasmine tea from porcelain lidded bowls. In the early nineteen hundreds, local laborers and merchants gathered here to negotiate deals and trade gossip. Today, the space maintains that original atmosphere with folk musicians performing in the corner.
