Before the luxury apartments stood on this site along the Regent's Canal, the grounds housed a bustling power station for the Great Northern and City Railway. In 1919, that industrial facility was converted into what became known as Hollywood by the Canal. Locals in the neighborhood often watched as film stars arrived in chauffeur-driven limousines to work at the studio, which was once the most technically advanced production space in the entire country.
