Admiralty House stands as a yellow brick mansion with a surprising architectural quirk. It possesses no main entrance facing Whitehall, the famous street it sits upon. Instead, access is granted only through the adjacent Admiralty buildings or the private courtyard. This design choice mirrors the building's original, rather modest purpose, as it was commissioned by Admiral of the Fleet Viscount Howe in the seventeen eighties to provide him with just a few small rooms of his own.
