Bay Meadows Town Square features a tall, slender clock tower rising above a grid of brick-paved walkways and open lawns. This space occupies the former home of the Bay Meadows Racetrack, a site where thoroughbreds raced for seventy-four years. When the horses left in two thousand eight, developers erased the dirt track and grandstands to build this town square. It serves as a permanent anchor for the surrounding modern development, replacing the betting windows with coffee shops and public seating areas.
