Venice Pride Flag Lifeguard Tower

landmark

The Venice Pride Flag Lifeguard Tower wears horizontal stripes of rainbow paint on every side. It stands on the sand as a permanent installation, maintained by Los Angeles County and the Venice Pride organization to provide a safe space for the local LGBTQ plus community. Originally a temporary display during the twenty seventeen pride month, the tower became a fixture after the community raised funds to keep the colors vibrant. It serves as an active station for lifeguards watching over the surf.
