He arrived in the United States from Poland in the early twentieth century, leaving behind the partitions of his homeland to find work in the local leather tanneries. These factories defined the neighborhood, drawing hundreds of immigrant families into cramped wooden triple-deckers nearby. While most graves here share the same granite grey, the dirt around his plot marks the quiet end of a long journey across the Atlantic for his family.
