North Street Fire Station

The North Street Fire Station is the building with the broad, arched apparatus bay doors sitting right at the corner of the intersection. When the city built it in nineteen hundred and sixteen, they needed a home for the horse-drawn engines that still hauled water through these narrow streets. Captain Timothy Doherty once raced out of these doors to help battle the great conflagration of nineteen fourteen, which burned through over two hundred acres of this city.
