cultural

The Linda Gross Theater occupies a building with a history far older than the modern productions staged inside. The structure served as the parish hall for Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church, constructed in eighteen seventy-one with a distinctive Gothic Revival design. Long before actors took the stage here, the hall served a surprising athletic purpose as a practice court for the New York Knickerbockers baseball team.
