Teatro SEA stands for the Society of the Educational Arts and functions as the only permanent Latino children's theater in the United States. Its name is a deliberate play on the Spanish verb ser, meaning to be, serving as an invitation for young people to explore their own identity through performance. Founded by Doctor Manuel Moran, the organization began as a way to revive Spanish language children's theater in New York City after a two-decade gap.
