Restaurante Silvestre occupies a grand, teal-painted mansion that dates back to the nineteen twenties. It features ornate cornices and a wrap-around porch that recalls the neighborhood's history as a residential hub for the wealthy. While the exterior retains the architectural flourishes of a bygone era, the interior serves modern Costa Rican cuisine designed by chef Santiago Fernández Benedetto. He centered the menu on forgotten ingredients from local forests and farms, sourcing everything directly from small producers across the country.
