The Conservatoire de Cannes sits in a former industrial site in the Pierre Longue neighborhood, distinguished by its long, low facade of gray concrete and sharp, modern geometric lines. Before it became a center for music and dance, the building belonged to the Société Générale des Huiles et Pétroles, which processed oil products here. When the city converted the space, architects kept the heavy industrial frame but filled the interior with soundproofed rehearsal rooms and an auditorium capable of holding three hundred people.
