Palais Brongniart

The Palais Brongniart features sixteen massive Corinthian columns that wrap around a rectangular limestone shell. Napoleon Bonaparte ordered its construction in eighteen oh eight to house the Paris Stock Exchange, demanding a building that spoke of stability and grandeur. For nearly two centuries, traders shouted orders and exchanged securities within its high-ceilinged trading floor. Today, the building hosts conferences and digital tech events, though the echoes of the former Bourse remain heavy in the stone walls and the imposing, austere facade.
