Musée de la Sculpture en Plein Air

The Musée de la Sculpture en Plein Air holds a series of permanent stone and bronze works along the grassy banks of the Seine. It exists because the city wanted to display contemporary art outside of a traditional museum environment. In the nineteen seventies, sculptors like César and Ossip Zadkine donated pieces to create this open-air gallery. You find these works tucked between the Quai Saint-Bernard and the river, where they weather the rain and wind, changing slightly with every passing season.
