Rue des Degrés holds the title of the shortest street in Paris. It measures just under six meters in length. Instead of a paved road with sidewalks, the entire street consists of a single, straight staircase containing fourteen steps. Because it is a formal public street, it maintains official status, complete with street name plates mounted on the walls at both its top and bottom.
