Hôtel de Jarnac

The Hotel de Jarnac at number eight rue Monsieur is a pristine example of eighteenth-century neoclassical architecture. Built in seventeen eighty-four by the architect Etienne-Francois Legrand, it was designed as a private mansion that immediately attracted the aristocratic elite. Its courtyard features a distinct row of ionic columns, while the garden facade is anchored by three large semi-columns that support an elegant curved pediment. The building has been classified as a historical monument since nineteen thirty-nine, preserving its layout and ornate interior details through centuries of changing ownership.
