Medieval Garden of the Cluny Museum

The Medieval Garden of the Cluny Museum sits behind a high stone wall, recognizable by the vibrant, rectangular patches of greenery that break the surrounding urban density. It occupies the site of ancient Roman baths, but its current design draws from medieval tapestry patterns and botanical records from the Middle Ages. In two thousand, it was reimagined to include a garden of medicinal herbs and a floral square, intentionally recreating the quiet, enclosed atmosphere once enjoyed by monks and nobility in the fifteenth century.
