Hôtel de Villeroy (Paris, 1st arrondissement)

The Hôtel de Villeroy features a limestone facade marked by a distinct, oversized semicircular carriage entrance on the Rue des Bourdonnais. Built in the mid-seventeenth century for Nicolas de Neufville, the Marquis de Villeroy, the mansion served as a residence for a family of high-ranking royal advisors. A century later, the mansion lost its private status when it housed the central post office for Paris. Clerks processed stacks of letters in rooms once intended for royal court intrigue and intimate aristocratic dinners.
