Hôpital Cochin

The Hôpital Cochin began in seventeen eighty as a small hospice founded by Jean-Denis Cochin, a local priest who wanted to provide care for the sick, the poor, and the workers of this neighborhood. While the original buildings were designed to treat patients suffering from smallpox, the institution has evolved over two centuries into a massive, modern medical campus. Today, it stands as a cornerstone of public health in Paris, functioning as both a major teaching hospital and a hub for advanced biomedical research.
