Printemps Haussmann

landmark

Printemps Haussmann began in eighteen sixty-five when a visionary couple, Jules and Augustine Jaluzot, opened a store on the corner of the boulevard with a promise to offer something new, fresh, and beautiful. Augustine, an actress at the Comedie Francaise, provided the crucial financing for the venture, which quickly became a revolutionary force in Parisian retail. It was the first department store to introduce a dedicated period of sales, offering end-of-season items at discounted prices in full transparency. This landmark remains a testament to that early ambition, having transformed from a small collection of floors into a massive shopping destination spanning three interconnected buildings.
