Lapérouse (restaurant)

Lapérouse opened in seventeen sixty six as a simple wine shop for an eighteenth century beverage merchant. As it gained popularity, the owner converted the upstairs servant quarters into private dining rooms to allow his guests to conduct business or count their money in total secrecy. These intimate nooks eventually became the signature feature of the building, offering a discreet refuge for the Parisian elite to host illicit affairs and private conversations.
