Lac de Saint-Mandé

You are standing near the Lac de Saint-Mandé, which sits at the highest elevation of the entire Bois de Vincennes park. Because of this position, the lake serves a vital engineering purpose as the source of a gravity-fed water system for the park. Artificial streams flow out from this lake, carrying water down to supply the other bodies of water throughout the woods.
