You are standing before a massive twenty-seven-meter-tall concrete structure that serves as a vibrant totem within the gardens of the Hôpital Necker-Enfants Malades. This tower, painted in 1987 by the American artist Keith Haring, was a spontaneous gift meant to offer hope and color to the children receiving care at this pediatric facility. Haring completed the work over the course of three days, refusing any payment for his contribution because he wanted to provide a source of joy for patients both at that time and in the future.
