Square Léon Frapiè (Ferns)

Square Leon Frapié is named for the French novelist who gained fame for his realistic depictions of the Parisian working class. His most celebrated work, La Maternelle, won the Prix Goncourt in 1904. The novel offers a poignant, firsthand look at the lives of children in impoverished neighborhood schools, a perspective he developed partly through the experiences of his wife, who worked as a teacher.
