Street Art Les toits de Belleville (CitéCréation)

The mural titled Les Toits de Belleville is a massive trompe l oeil creation that completely transforms the side of the building it occupies. It was produced by the French muralist association CitéCréation, a group famous for using monumental frescos to bestow a sense of pride and visual history upon urban neighborhoods. By painting a hyper-realistic depiction of the surrounding neighborhood onto the wall, the artists effectively turned a blank facade into a mirror of the area itself. This style of work is designed to engage residents by reflecting the living culture and architectural identity of their own streets. The project is a prime example of urban design intended to humanize the landscape rather than simply decorate it.
