Cimetière de la Villette

historic

The Cimetière de la Villette stands as a quiet survivor of a vanished village. Before this area was folded into the city of Paris in eighteen sixty, it was a separate agricultural commune called La Villette. As the suburb grew and the earlier sites were built over, this cemetery became the last physical connection to the families who cultivated these lands for centuries.
