Orgues de Flandre

You are approaching a complex that looks like a concrete monolith carved into the skyline. These are the Orgues de Flandre, a massive residential project built between the late nineteen sixties and nineteen eighties. Its name translates to Organs of Flanders because the towering, segmented buildings were intentionally designed to resemble the vertical pipes of a liturgical organ. The complex includes four major towers named Prelude, Fugue, Cantate, and Sonata, which rise high above the street level to create a rhythm of light and shadow across the neighborhood.
