Street Art Rue Bisson

The Rue Bisson curves sharply, its walls serving as a legal canvas for artists in the Belleville neighborhood. Unlike the city-sanctioned murals found elsewhere, this street functions through a local agreement where property owners permit rotating works directly on their facades. Jerome Mesnager, one of the pioneers of the Parisian street art scene, painted his signature white figures here throughout the nineteen eighties. The walls change constantly, erasing the past to make room for new layers of aerosol paint and wheatpaste posters.
