The Fatehpuri Masjid in Agra features three high domes and a facade of red sandstone that contrasts sharply with the white marble inlay patterns tracing its arches. Shah Jahan built this mosque for his wife, Fatehpuri Begum, in the mid seventeenth century. While other royal monuments in the city capture more attention, this site remains a working house of prayer. Local merchants still gather here daily, continuing a tradition of community worship that has occupied this courtyard for over three hundred years.
