The stone tablet near the entrance marks this as the place where the legendary warrior Sanada Yukimura met his end during the Summer Siege of Osaka in sixteen fifteen. A small well, known as the Sanada Well, remains on the grounds as a focal point. While the temple grounds feel quiet today, they sit atop the ridge where Yukimura led his final charge against the Tokugawa forces. Visitors leave small tokens and messages at the well to honor the strategist who held his ground here.
