Shitennoji Koshindo is identified by a small stone monument and a modest wooden structure tucked behind a simple gate. It serves as one of the three major Koshin sites in Japan, dedicated to the deity Shomen Kongo. People visit this spot to pray during the Koshin night, which occurs every sixty days. In the year seventeen hundred and forty-four, monks from the nearby Shitennoji Temple established this site to protect the local community from the illnesses associated with traditional folk beliefs.
