Japanese Garden

The Keishuen Garden sits behind the Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts, marked by a massive, centuries-old stone lantern that anchors the northern edge of the pond. This strolling garden was commissioned in nineteen twenty-six by the merchant Jihei Ogawa. He designed the landscape to integrate the distant silhouette of the Chausuyama burial mound into the view. When the tea room opened, local families gathered here to watch the maple leaves reflect in the water, a tradition that continues every autumn.
