Founded in the year sixteen forty-nine, the pharmacy originally served as a place for locals to secure medicinal herbs during the Qing dynasty. Legend holds that the founder, Wang Yiting, learned his trade while traveling through the mountains, eventually bringing his remedies to this exact corner of Hangzhou. People still come here for traditional Chinese medicine consultations today.
