Wydihof

The Wydihof in Unterseen stands out with its heavy, overhanging eaves and the timber-framed construction typical of the Bernese Oberland. Built in the late seventeenth century, this house served as a local administration center and a private residence for the town's influential figures. During the occupation by French troops in seventeen ninety-eight, soldiers requisitioned the building to house their officers. A cannonball strike left a mark on the stone foundation from that turbulent time, still visible near the main entrance today.
