L'Atelier de la Cire Genève

A single, glowing window filled with rows of hand-poured candles distinguishes this storefront on the Rue Saint-Joseph. Carouge was designed as a city of craftsmen under the king of Sardinia, and this shop continues that tradition by hand-casting wax using methods from the eighteenth century. Inside, the shelves hold thousands of molds, some dating back to the workshop's opening in nineteen seventy-eight. You might smell the faint, lingering scent of beeswax before you reach the front door.
