Aggrey House

Aggrey House served as a dedicated hostel for West African students in London during the middle of the twentieth century. It took its name from James Emman Kwegyir Aggrey, a Ghanaian intellectual and educator who advocated for racial cooperation and higher education. The hostel provided a rare residential space where students from various colonies could organize and discuss the burgeoning movements for independence. This location functioned as a critical node for anti-colonial thinkers who would go on to lead their respective nations.
