White Chamber

The White Chamber was a vital, though now vanished, component of the medieval Palace of Westminster. Built around the year eleven sixty-seven, it served originally as a royal dining hall. It later functioned as the home of the Court of Requests, where subjects brought their petitions directly to the king. Because of this role, it was sometimes referred to as the Court of White Hall.
