Kings Place

Kings Place is a striking piece of modern architecture on the edge of the Battlebridge Basin. Completed in two thousand eight, it stands out for its wavy glass facade along York Way, which was engineered to shield the interior from the intensity of the afternoon sun. While it houses corporate offices, the building was designed from the ground up to integrate culture directly into its structure. It contains the first public concert hall to be newly built in central London in over a quarter of a century. The building acts as a dedicated home for music, arts, and spoken word events, functioning as a cultural anchor in a part of the city that was once defined primarily by railway infrastructure and industrial rubble.
