Prince of Wales Theatre

The Prince of Wales Theatre stands on Coventry Street as a landmark of West End history. The current building arrived in nineteen thirty-seven, but the site has hosted performances since eighteen eighty-four. In its early decades, the theater gained a reputation for hosting daring, risqué revues in the style of the Parisian Folies Bergère. These shows were so successful and popular that the massive profits they generated funded the complete demolition of the original structure to build the sleek Art Deco theater you see today.
