The theater building you are approaching occupies a site that remained vacant for over sixty years after the previous structures were demolished. During those decades, the empty lot functioned primarily as a site for construction storage and ventilation shafts for the London Underground. Architects designed this modern venue with a unique auditorium that can reconfigure its seating layout between a traditional proscenium style and a theater in the round. This physical flexibility allows the stage floor to be moved and adjusted to meet the specific technical demands of each new production.
