National Windrush Monument

The National Windrush Monument stands in London Waterloo station as a tribute to the generation of Caribbean immigrants who arrived in Britain between nineteen forty-eight and nineteen seventy-one. The site choice is deliberate, as thousands of these pioneers stepped off trains at this very station after their arrival at British ports, beginning their journeys to new lives across the country.
