The Graffiti Tunnel

You are entering a three hundred meter long tunnel that runs directly beneath the railway platforms of Waterloo Station. This space was once a standard, utilitarian road that served as a taxi rank for the old Eurostar terminal, but it fell into total disuse after the terminal moved to Saint Pancras in two thousand seven. It remained a dark, neglected alleyway until the famous street artist Banksy organized an event here in two thousand eight called the Cans Festival. That single event invited dozens of international artists to transform the gray walls, which paved the way for the tunnel to become London's only authorized legal graffiti site.
