Rainbow Bar & Grill

The Rainbow Bar and Grill features a black facade with a prominent, neon-lit sign glowing above the entrance on the Sunset Strip. This building formerly housed the Villa Nova restaurant, where Joe DiMaggio took Marilyn Monroe on their first date in nineteen fifty-two. Mario Maglieri turned it into the Rainbow in nineteen seventy-two. It became a permanent home for rock stars like Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead, who spent his afternoons playing the video poker machine at the far end of the bar.
