Led Zeppelin house

The two red-brick tenement buildings standing at ninety-six and ninety-eight Saint Marks Place are famously known as the cover star of the nineteen seventy-five Led Zeppelin album, Physical Graffiti. While the band did not live here, they chose these specific structures for their symmetrical, quintessentially New York City appearance. To make the buildings fit the square format of an album cover, the designer had to crop out the top floor, leaving the iconic image fans recognize today.
